Cat's Cradle (2009)

Witches Broom.
Cat Whiskers.

String games have been played for centuries, mainly for amusement, but also, I like to think, to ward off ghosts. In this piece, performance itself is a game. I play at mixing the video, navigating between distinct images of a young girl making string figures and ice cream color abstractions à la Piet Mondrian.

Accompanied by an original soundtrack that journeys from an elementary school classroom to the comforting hum of industry, Cat’s Cradle is about the search, by one, to play as two again. Any ghosts being warded off just might be my own.
